Heya to feature Southeast Asian designers for the first time
Exhibition organizers conclude successful tour of Malaysia and Indonesia

Fashion designers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will participate in Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition for the first time at the upcoming 8th edition, exhibition organizers announced.

Taking place November 12-18, Heya will feature fashion designers from the ASEAN Designer Project (ADP), a program curated by Sheikhahub for the ASEAN Entrepreneur Summit (1AES).

The announcement follows a Heya roadshow through Malaysia and Indonesia organized in cooperation with Sheikhahub, where Heya organizers met with local fashion designers and media.

‘We are most enthusiastic to be part of Heya this year and showcase talented designers from Asean countries. We will feature exciting works of young designers such as celebrity designer Dian Pelangi from Indonesia, Vinn Patararin from Thailand, LullySelb from Singapore, Danzdesign and Shairose from Malaysia. This will be a start of collaboration not just in fashion but also in cultural exchange and tourism.’ said Datin Norzihan Latt, Founder of Sheikhahub.

In Kuala Lampur, Heya organizers hosted an event that was attended by His and Her Royal Highnesses, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Perlis, who have long supported the development of the Islamic fashion industry and fashion entrepreneurship in Malaysia. Other distinguished guests included the wives’ of Ambassadors from Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Kuwait, Palestine, Yemen, Sudan and Oman.

During the event, guests and attending media had the opportunity to preview the latest collections by Vinn Patararin (Thailand), DanzDesign (Malaysia), LullySelb (Singapore) and Shairose (Malaysia).

Meanwhile in Jakarta, Heya organizers and NooR Magazine, Indonesia’s leading Muslim fashion and lifestyle magazine, hosted a forum in Jakarta which was attended by a number of local media outlets, including CNN Indonesia, as well as 30 Indonesian fashion designers and fashion bloggers, who discussed the importance of events such as Heya in creating more platforms for Muslim fashion.

The 8th Edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition is taking place at the new Doha Exhibition and Convention Center and will be open from 1 to 11 PM daily. Organized by Qatar Tourism Authority and managed by Design Creationz, the 8th Heya will feature the best in the Fall 2015 collections of Islamic and Arabian fashion.

With 347 exhibition stands covering over 10,000 square meters, the upcoming exhibition offers a great deal for visitors and designers alike. Some of the planned activities include multiple fashion shows, high-level discussion forums and hands-on fashion workshops.
